The IPL Mega Auction 2025 is scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This will be only the second time the auction is held outside of India, with the previous event in 2024 taking place in Dubai. The two-day auction will begin at 12:30 p.m. local time (3:00 p.m. IST) on November 24. An interesting aspect of this year’s auction is its timing, as it will coincide with the third and fourth days of the ongoing Test match between Australia and India, being played in Perth.
A total of 1,574 players initially registered for the IPL Mega Auction 2025. However, following a rigorous review and assessment process, this list has been significantly reduced to 574 players. The final pool includes 366 Indian cricketers, 208 players from overseas, and 3 players representing associate nations. This trimmed-down roster reflects the highly competitive nature of the selection process and sets the stage for an exciting auction ahead.
The list includes several prominent cricketers who have made significant contributions to the sport. On the bowling front, we have Kagiso Rabada, the South African fast bowler whose pace and skill make him a key player in any format, and Arshdeep Singh, the promising Indian left-arm pacer known for his ability to bowl in the death overs. Mitchell Starc, Australia’s left-arm fast bowler, is another standout, known for his lethal pace and ability to strike at crucial moments.
Additionally, there are highly skilled all-rounders like Yuzvendra Chahal, an Indian leg-spinner famous for his wicket-taking abilities in limited-overs cricket; Liam Livingstone, the English all-rounder who brings both power-hitting and spin-bowling into play; and David Miller, the South African power-hitter known for his explosive finishes.
The list also features top Indian batsmen and bowlers, such as KL Rahul, an elegant right-handed opener and middle-order batsman with a calm temperament, and Mohammed Shami, the experienced Indian pacer known for his seam movement and ability to take wickets in any condition. Lastly, Mohammed Siraj, another Indian pacer, has earned a reputation for his aggressive bowling and impressive performances in recent years.
Each of these cricketers has excelled in their respective roles, contributing significantly to their teams’ successes.
A total of 204 slots will be available for selection, with 70 of these designated specifically for overseas players. Among these, the highest reserve price has been set at Rs 2 Crore, with an impressive 81 players choosing to place themselves in this top price bracket. This marks a significant opportunity for both domestic and international cricketers to attract attention and secure lucrative deals in the upcoming auction.
