IPL 2025 Auction: Oldest and Youngest Players Set to Be Auctioned

The IPL 2025 Auction is set to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This auction marks the first major event of its kind since the 2022 edition, making it highly anticipated among fans and franchise teams alike. Out of the thousands of players who registered, a total of 574 have been shortlisted for the auction. Of these, 366 are Indian players, while the remaining 208 players hail from various international cricketing nations, including three players from associate countries. This diverse pool of talent promises to bring fresh competition and excitement to the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League.

The upcoming IPL auction will feature a total of 318 Indian uncapped players, along with 12 uncapped overseas players. There will be 204 available slots for teams to fill, including 70 slots specifically designated for overseas players. The highest reserve price set for players at the auction is Rs. 2 crore, with 81 players choosing to place themselves in this top price bracket, aiming to attract maximum bids from the franchises.

At 42 years old, England’s renowned fast bowler James Anderson is the oldest player to feature in this IPL 2025 Auction. Although Anderson has retired from international cricket, this marks his debut appearance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. Despite his age, the inclusion of such a distinguished player, known for his skill and longevity in the game, adds a new dynamic to the IPL’s player pool.

The youngest player to participate in this year’s auction is Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a promising uncapped cricketer from India. At just 13 years old, he has made history by becoming the youngest player ever to be included in an IPL auction, setting a remarkable record for the tournament.
