1. Chennai Super Kings vs. 2/14 in the IPL 2019 Final

This bowling performance by Jasprit Bumrah is definitely one of his best in the IPL. It took place during the 2019 IPL final. The Jasprit Bumrah batted first and scored only 149 runs.  Chennai Super Kings were in a strong position at 73 for 2, and Mumbai needed a breakthrough.

Jasprit Bumrah provided that crucial moment by dismissing Ambati Rayudu, giving his team a glimmer of hope. As the match progressed, Chennai needed 17 runs from 11 balls. Jasprit Bumrah then took another key wicket, Dwayne Bravo, putting Mumbai in a better position. His four-over spell cost just 14 runs and was crucial to Mumbai’s victory. For his exceptional performance, Bumrah was named Player of the Match.

2. Kolkata Knight Riders vs. 5/10 in IPL 2022

In the 56th match of the season, Mumbai played against the Kolkata Knight Riders.  KKR  batted first and were at 136 for 3 in the 15th over, with a potential total of 200 runs still achievable thanks to some strong hitters yet to come in. However, Bumrah made a crucial breakthrough by dismissing Andre Russell, which triggered a collapse. Just three balls later, he also got Nitish Rana out for 43. Bumrah then returned to bowl the 18th over, taking 3 more wickets and stalling Kolkata’s progress. He finished with remarkable figures of 5 wickets for 10 runs in 4 overs. In the last 34 balls of the innings, KKR could only manage 29 runs. This was Bumrah’s only 5-wicket haul in the IPL so far.

3. April 14: Match against Delhi Capitals in the 2020 IPL season.

In the first qualifier of the 13th season of the Indian Premier League, Mumbai’s strong all-round batting helped them reach 200 runs. In reply, Delhi quickly lost their first three wickets without scoring any runs. Shikhar Dhawan was among those dismissed for a duck, with Bumrah taking his wicket. The fourth wicket fell at a score of 20, with Shreyas Iyer also falling to Bumrah. Marcus Stoinis fought back with a score of 65 off 46 balls before Bumrah got him out as well. Two balls later, Bumrah dismissed  Danial Sams. His impressive bowling figures of 4 wickets for 14 runs led Mumbai to a 57-run victory and secured their spot in the final.

4. 3rd July: Kolkata Knight Riders and Jasprit Bumrah in IPL 2017

In the second qualifier of the season, Mumbai Indians needed a win to advance to the final. They started by bowling, and Bumrah made an early impact by dismissing the dangerous Chris Lynn. He took another wicket, removing Robin Uthappa, in the last over of the powerplay. In the 18th over, he dismissed Suryakumar Yadav, which dashed Kolkata Knight Riders’ chances of reaching a strong total. Bumrah’s three overs yielded only 7 runs, and Kolkata was all out for 107. Mumbai chased down the target comfortably and moved on to the final.

5. March 14: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs. Team XYZ in IPL 2020

Batting first, Bangalore made a strong start, scoring 71 runs in just 7.5 overs. They were 95 for 1 in the 12th over when Mumbai’s star bowler claimed the crucial wicket of Virat Kohli. He also took out Shivam Dube and Devdutt Padikkal in the 17th over. Padikkal was the standout performer with 74 runs from 45 balls. Bumrah’s impressive spell of 3 wickets for 14 runs in 4 overs left Mumbai needing 165 runs to win, which they achieved comfortably.

6. March 15, 2018: Match between 3/15 and Kings XI Punjab in the IPL

Mumbai, playing on their home turf, set a target of 186 for Punjab, finishing their 20 overs at 186 for 8. Punjab seemed to be cruising in the chase, having scored 145 for 1 in the first 16 overs. However, Bumrah brought Mumbai back into the game by dismissing Aaron Finch for 46 from 35 balls. In the same over, he also took the wicket of the dangerous Marcus Stoinis. KL Rahul kept Punjab’s hopes alive with a brilliant 94 off 60 balls and was at the crease needing 20 runs from the last 10 balls. But Bumrah’s outstanding spell of 3 for 15 in his 4 overs turned the game around, securing a narrow 3-run victory for Mumbai.

7. April 20: Match Against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2020

Mumbai batted first against Rajasthan in Abu Dhabi and set a target of 194, with Suryakumar Yadav scoring a brilliant 79 runs off 47 balls. Jasprit Bumrah made an early impact in Rajasthan’s chase by dismissing Steve Smith in the second over. In the 16th over, Bumrah took his second wicket by removing the dangerous Rahul Tewatia and later dismissed Shreyas Gopal in the same over. Jofra Archer hit 24 runs off 11 balls before being Bumrah’s fourth victim. Mumbai secured a convincing win by 57 runs.

8. Took 3 wickets for 17 runs against Rajasthan Royals in the 2022 IPL season

Rajasthan batted first but lost their first wicket at just 13 runs, with Jasprit Bumrah taking the early breakthrough. Despite this, the Royals’ batting lineup took control against Mumbai’s bowlers, reaching 183 for 3 by the 19th over. In the second-to-last over, Bumrah dismissed Shimron Hetmyer for 35 off 14 balls and Jos Buttler for 100 off 68 balls. Rajasthan ended their innings at 193 for 6, but Bumrah stood out by giving away only 17 runs in his 4 overs and taking 3 wickets.

9. 3 wickets for 25 runs against Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022

Delhi started their innings but lost their first wicket in the 3rd over. Bumrah struck again in the next over, dismissing Mitchell Marsh for a golden duck, leaving Delhi at 22 for 2. In the final over of the powerplay, he took another key wicket, removing Prithvi Shaw and putting the batting side under pressure. Despite these setbacks, Delhi managed to recover and scored close to 150, with Rovman Powell leading the effort with a 34-ball 43. However, Bumrah returned in the 19th over to take Powell’s wicket, finishing with impressive figures of 3 for 25. As a result, Delhi was restricted to 159 for 7 in their 20 overs. Mumbai Indians successfully chased the target, losing only 5 wickets.

10. 3 wickets for 13 runs against Delhi Capitals in IPL 2016

The Delhi Capitals were set a massive target of 207 runs by the Mumbai Indians. A young Jasprit Bumrah took crucial wickets, including Rishabh Pant, JP Duminy, and Amit Mishra, with a standout performance. He only conceded 13 runs in his 4 overs. The Delhi Capitals were dismissed for 126 runs, resulting in an 80-run victory for the Mumbai Indians.
